Oceanographic Forecast

Products Available

CGEOMETOC is responsible for producing a comprehensive set of meteo-oceanographic products, with emphasis on:

1. Forecast of the state of the sea, including significant wave height, period and dominant direction;
2. Oceanographic forecasts at different levels of depth, from the surface to the seabed, with emphasis on:
   • Sea currents;
   • Water temperature;
   • Salinity and other physicochemical parameters.

These products are used for:

• Support Naval Operations and exercises of the Portuguese Navy;
• Support Maritime Authority;
• Integrate NATO decision support systems, ensuring interoperability and compliance with standards accepted by allied nations.
