World Accreditation Day – 09 June
On June 9, the World Accreditation Day was celebrated, a global initiative established by the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) to promote the value of accreditation.
This year under the theme ‘Accreditation: Supporting the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)’
The SDGs are at the heart of the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, a broad and ambitious action plan with the broad objective of Leave no one behind.
Accreditation, in collaboration with other quality infrastructure institutions, provides the essential technical basis for the functioning of developed and developing societies. It allows industrial development, commercial competitiveness in global markets, efficient use of natural and human resources, food security and protection of health and the environment.
