What's your thing... on the Beaches?

In order to contribute to bathing safety, the new product included in the service “What’s your Wave?” for Costa da Caparica is already available on the Hydrographic Institute (IH). Based on the wave model SMARTWAVE, developed in the IH, and using the most up-to-date batimetric information, the product presents forecasts every 6 hours with a time horizon of 6 days, of the characteristics of the break taking into account the height of the tide, including the height and wavelength and depth of the burst, and the distance from the break to the coast line.

Weather conditions, surface wind and cloud cover are provided by the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere.
