Visit to the Hydrographic Institute for the Spanish Hydrographic Service
A delegation from the Instituto Hydrográfico de la Marina - IHM, headed by Commander-Director, Captain of Ship D. Juan Aguilar Cavanillas, visited the IH, on 24 and 25 May 2016, under the bilateral protocol between these two institutes.
This visit allowed the continuation of the hydrographic collaboration between Portugal and Spain, including joint hydrographic surveys in areas of common interest and the sharing of data for the production and cartographic update, thus contributing to the development of their hydrographic capabilities and to the exchange of knowledge and procedures, as well as to the optimization of available resources and consequent reduction of expenditure, in works carried out in areas of common interest.
In the signing of the Honor Book, the Director of the Spanish Navy Hydrographic Service, expressed the following message: “In memory of my visit to the Navy Hydrographic Institute, as a sincere proof of the excellent professional and human relations that unite both institutions, and wishing all our colleagues the greatest professional successes.”
