Visit by the Delegation of the European Border and Coast Guard Agency to the OH

On 19 February 2020, the Director-General of the Hydrographic Institute, Rear Admiral Carlos Ventura Soares, received a visit from a delegation of the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (FRONTEX) consisting of Dr Ana Cristina Jorge, Director of the Operational Response Division, Dr Lara Ribeiro, liaison officer with Portugal and Spain, and Dr Alessandro Signoriello, coordinator of the Coast Guard Unit and Imposition of the Law.

The aim of this visit was to strengthen and strengthen institutional ties, as well as to design future cooperation actions between the Hydrographic Institute and this European agency.

FRONTEX, based in Warsaw, provides support to the countries of the European Union (EU) and the countries associated with the Schengen area in the management of their external borders, contributing to harmonisation and cooperation between the border control authorities of each EU country.
