Visit by the Nigerian Institute for Oceanography and Marine Research to the IH
The Director-General of the Hydrographic Institute, Rear Admiral Carlos Ventura Soares, received on December 9, the visit of Dr. Adekunle Oresegun, Director of Biotechnology Department and Dr. Adesina Adegbie, Director of Marine Geology and Geophysics, both Nigerian Institute for Oceanography and Marine Research (NIOMR)
This visit aimed to strengthen ties between the IH and NIOMR by making known the IH, the activities and ongoing projects as well as the potential of each of the areas of the sciences and techniques of the sea that contribute to the technological and scientific development of the country.
THE NIOMR (http://www.niomr. gov.ng/) is a multidisciplinary institute of marine research, the main institute of marine sciences in Nigeria, whose scientific activity covers virtually all aspects related to ocean science and marine science such as aquaculture, biological oceanography, biotechnology, fishing resources, fish technology and product development, physical and chemical oceanography and geology / marine geophysics.
