Visit by the Minister of State and Minister for Defence of Côte d'Ivoire to OH

Under the military cooperation agreement signed between Portugal and Côte d'Ivoire, the Minister of State and Minister of Defense of Côte d'Ivoire, Hamed Bakayoko, visited the Hydrographic Institute (IH) today. It was received by the Chief of Staff of the Navy and National Maritime Authority, Admiral António Mendes Calado.

Although the visit to the IH was brief, there was an opportunity for the Director-General, Rear Admiral Carlos Ventura Soares, to present the activities and challenges of the Institute in the various aspects including Hydrography, Oceanography, Navigation Security, Marine Geology and Chemistry and Pollution of the Marine Environment.

This visit made it possible to strengthen ties and identify new areas of cooperation between the two countries in the field of defense and scientific knowledge of the sea.
