Validation of determination of heavy metals in marine sediments

On 29 and 30 May the Eurachem Workshop took place in Cyprus, subject to the theme – “Uncertainty in Qualitative and Quantitative

Analysis, in which the poster “Validation of Heavy Metals Determination in Marine Settlements” was presented: A match of uncertainty

evaluation approaches”.

This work is part of the thesis of Master in Chemistry of the School of Sciences, by Vanessa Morgado, entitled “Comparation

of approaches to evaluate the uncertainty of the measurement of metals in sediments” guided by Professor Ricardo Bettencourt da Silva da

Faculty of Sciences and Enga Carla Palma, head of the Marine Chemistry and Pollution Division of the Hydrographic Institute.

The work presented was awarded a monetary prize for best Poster of the workshop.
