The Commander of the Colombian National Navy visits the IH

The Hydrographic Institute (IH) had the honour of receiving today (March 19) the Commander of the National Armada of the Republic of Colombia, Vice Admiral Evelio Enrique Ramírez Gáfaro. This is your first visit to a foreign Navy since you took office at the end of last year. It was received by his Portuguese counterpart, Admiral Mendes Calado.

The sea brings sailors who feel it in the same way and even look at it with the same concerns. In the IH there was the opportunity to present our scientific, security and defense perspectives in the areas of Hydrography, Oceanography, Navigation, Marine Chemistry and Marine Geology. The capacity to support naval operations of the GEOMETOC Centre of Excellence and the training given at the School of Hydrography and Oceanography has also aroused considerable interest.
