Division of Chemistry and Pollution of the Marine Environment participates in fitness test

The Marine Chemical and Pollution Division of the Hydrographic Institute has once again participated in the aptitude test developed to evaluate the performance of laboratories in the analysis of samples taken in the context of illicit hydrocarbon spills (Round Robin Tests).

In this essay it was distinguished with 94% and thus achieving the second best ex aequo performance with another renowned European laboratory in the area. The first position is also shared by two other reference laboratories, both quoted at 95%.

The results of the aptitude test were disclosed and discussed, among the other participants of the international network of experts in the area of identification of the origin of hydrocarbons spills (OSINet), during their annual meeting this year, between April 24 and 26 in Oostend, Belgium.
