Technical team of the Hydrographic Institute on mission in the Madeira archipelago
A technical team from the Hydrographic Institute consisting of elements from the Divisions of Marine Geology, Oceanography and the Maritime Instrumentation Centre is on board the NRP Admiral Gago Coutinho on a mission included in the Portuguese Sea Mapping Project, in the Madeira archipelago area.
This mission, which takes place between 9 and 22 May, takes place surveys for the characterization and monitoring of seabeds in the inert extraction zones, as well as mapping of marine sediments north of the island of Porto Santo, under the SEDMAR program.
This mission also includes the maintenance of the ondograph buoy of the wild islands.
