Start of the Specialization Course in Hydrography 2019/20
The edition of the Specialization Course in Hydrography 2019/20 of the Hydrography and Oceanography School of the Hydrographic Institute began on September 2, 2019.
The current course, in addition to the four Portuguese Navy officers, is part of a civilian of Spanish and Brazilian nationality.
The civil student holds a Master's Degree in Oceanography from the University of Vigo and is a graduate of Oceanography from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil, and is not the first time that this School has received students from this University.
This student enrolled within the scope of the opportunity given to the civil community to take advantage of the excess vacancies, confirming the interest of civilian students from other countries in attending our courses. This interest is mainly due to the international recognition of the course with category A, the highest, which ensures the high quality of training and which has been reflected in a very high rate of employability. On the other hand, only 21 courses worldwide are recognized with this category and some of these courses do not allow their attendance by civilian students.
The current Course has as patron Commander Azevedo Coutinho, a Hydrograph Engineer who left a marked mark in the history of Hydrography and the Portuguese Navy.
This course will last 49 weeks of classes, expected to end on September 18, 2020.
