Signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Marine Institute and the Hydrographic Institute

On October 2, a memorandum of understanding between the Marine Institute (MI) of Ireland and the Hydrographic Institute (IH) was signed in Galway.

By IH he signed his Director-General, Rear Admiral Carlos Ventura Soares. The MI was represented by Dr. Peter Heffernan, its Executive Director.

This memorandum of understanding will increase technical cooperation and exchange of information between the two institutes, which have in the study and knowledge of the sea, especially the Atlantic Ocean, a common denominator.

The Marine Institute is the agency of the Irish state responsible for marine research, technological development and innovation. It is responsible for the scientific and technical advice of the government in the context of the policies for the sustainable development of Irish marine resources.
