Visit to the Royal Armed Forces of Morocco

Within the framework of Bilateral Cooperation Portugal-Moroccos, a Portuguese delegation consisting of the MAJ ART Paulo Póvoa of the Army's Geospatial Information Center (CIGeoE) and CTEN Gomes de Carvalho of the Hydrographic Institute (IH), visited Rabat (Morocco) between September 24 and 28 this year.

The mission aimed to visit the organs of the Royal Armed Forces of Morocco responsible for the development of cartographic information (Cartography and SIG Division) and hydrographic (Division of Hydrography, Oceanography and Cartography), as well as the Agence Nationale de la Conservation Foncière du Register et de la Cartographie (ANCFCC), responsible for cartographic production in Morocco.

During the meetings and visits, the existing interest in the development of collaboration between the two countries was demonstrated in the context of hydrography, training and improvement of work techniques, aiming at the continuity of ongoing actions and the implementation of new collaborations.
