Accessibility and Usability Seal

The Silver Seal of Accessibility and Usability was assigned to the institutional portal of the Hydrographic Institute (www.hidrografico.pt/).

The Accessibility and Usability Seal is intended to identify and promote the application of best practices on websites and mobile applications and comprises 3 classification levels corresponding to Bronze, Silver and Gold grades.

This initiative, developed by the Agency for Administrative Modernisation and the National Institute for Rehabilitation, aims at simplifying and increasing efficiency in the use of public services online by citizens, particularly those who need to use support technologies.

The award of the Silver Seal of Accessibility and Usability, to which the IH applied following a lengthy work of reviewing the contents and updating the functionality of the portal under consideration, is valid for one year and attests to the compliance of that website with level 2 accessibility and usability, assessed according to the methodology provided for in Article 9(1) of Decree-Law No 83/2018 of 19 October.

Next goal: Gold grade.
