Float records during the storm

In recent days there has been a worsening of the state of the sea on the Portuguese coast, especially in the Madeira archipelago and on the southern coast of mainland Portugal.

In Madeira, the period of greatest intensity of the storm was between the end of 28 February and the first hours of 1 March and, in Faro, about 1 p.m. on 1 March.

On the west coast the worsening continues to make itself feel, although with more moderate intensity.

In the archipelago of Madeira, on the morning of 28 February, there was a maximum height of 11m and a significant height of 6m, with a predominant direction of west. On the night of February 28 there was a maximum height of 12m and a significant height about 8m, heading west.

In mainland Portugal, there was an intensification of the ripple from SW/W and reached the southern coast with greater severity. A maximum height of 12 m and a significant height of about 7 m were recorded on the morning of March 01.
