Reactivated the multiparametric coastal buoy of Nazareth
The coastal multiparametric buoy of Nazareth was reactivated on May 27. This operation was carried out aboard the NRP D. Carlos I and was attended by the Chief of Staff of the Armada, Admiral António Mendes Calado, the Naval Commander, Vice Admiral Silvestre Correia and the Director General of the Hydrographic Institute, Rear Admiral Ventura Soares. The oceanographic work carried out by the technical team of the Hydrographic Institute was supported by two Navy divers.
This foundation is part of the current mission of maintaining the buoys of the System of Monitoring and Operational Forecast of the Portuguese EEZ - MONIZEE from 26 to 29 May in the areas of Nazareth and Leixões.
Maintenance missions to the equipment of this system are essential in order to ensure its proper operation and to ensure that the meteorological and oceanographic parameters obtained in real time are made available from the website of the www.hydrographic Hydrographic Institute. pt and the portal dedicated to the Observatory of the Cannon of Nazareth (MONICAN).
The NRP D. Carlos I now travels north, where the same team will also reactivate the Bóia Alfredo Magalhães Ramalho, off the Leixões.
