Hydrographic Intervention Team Quick performs hydrographic survey in the Tagus estuary

The Rapid Intervention Hydrographic Team (EHIR) carried out, on November 9, 2018, a hydrographic survey in the Tagus estuary, to evaluate the safety conditions for the founding of the American carrier USS S. Truman.

This mission was carried out on board the vessels Fisalia and Mergillon equipped with multi-beam and lateral sonar for data acquisition.

In the photos we present of this mission we can see the launch of the vessel Mergulhão from the Naval Base of Lisbon to the site of the survey, the preparation of the equipment for the acquisition of the data, the acquisition of the data on board and the result obtained from the processing of the data acquired.

EHIR is a team at the command of the Admiral Account Director-General, who expeditiously operationalises the multidisciplinary capabilities of the Hydrographic Institute to address the various scenarios.
