Lecture “Rosa October” at the Hydrographic Institute

This Tuesday, October 15, the lecture “October Rosa” took place at the Hydrographic Institute (IH).

This cycle of awareness-raising lectures is organized by the Navy, through the Office of Gender Perspective and Naval Medicine Center, with the aim of alerting and mobilizing society in the fight against breast cancer.

In the OH, the lecture was conducted by Lieutenant Marques Morgado, who explained the origin of the movement “October Rosa”. In addition to addressing breast cancer, Lieutenant Marques Morgado also talked about cervical cancer. In both cases, it highlighted the importance of screening and early diagnosis to increase the chances of cure.

Regarding breast cancer, although it is much more associated with female gender, the speaker stressed that this disease also affects male gender.

The awareness talks “October Rosa” are taking place throughout October in the various Navy units.
