Project Meloa Campaign

On 10 March 2020, another MELOA project campaign was held in Sines (http://www.hydrographic.pt/iproject/27).

This campaign was accompanied by elements from the Hydrographic Institute and a team from the Shipwreck Aid Institute. and aimed to compare wave sensor performance of Wavy drift floaters with data obtained from Sines coastal buoy.

The work consisted of putting one of the floats on top of the buoy and two on top of it, where they remained floating.

These data will then be compared to those received from the buoy for its validation.

The Sines coastal buoy, of the Datawell brand, belongs to the buoy network of the Hydrographic Institute (http://www.hydrographic. pt/boats) and is considered by the scientific community a reference for wave measurement.
