Inauguration Ceremony of the Director of the School of Hydrography and Oceanography - 2020

On November 5, 2020, at 12.30 p.m., in the office of the Director General of the Hydrographic Institute, took place the inauguration ceremony of Captain José António Velho Gouveia, in the position of Director of the Hydrography and Oceanography School of the Hydrographic Institute.

The appointment of Captain of the Sea and War Velho Gouveia followed the dismissal of Captain of the Sea and War Brandão Correia from the position of Interim Director of the School of Hydrography and Oceanography, during the period from July 2 to November 5, 2020, who, in turn, had succeeded Captain of the Sea and War Leonel Pereira Manteigas, who was subsequently appointed to a position at the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO), after having held this position between June 15, 2016, and June 15, 2020.

The ceremony was chaired by Rear Admiral Carlos Manuel da Costa Ventura Soares, Director General of the Hydrographic Institute, and was attended by the other directors and staff serving at the School.
