Farewell of Collaborator António Maria Luís

After fifty-three years of exemplary service, the Hydrographic Institute said goodbye to collaborator António Maria Luís who, over more than half a century, honored the mission of the Institute and, consequently, the Navy.

António Luís demonstrated, throughout his professional career, a high technical competence in precision mechanics. This practice was reflected in a response of enormous quality and efficiency by the Institute in the maintenance and rectification of a range of precision and measurement equipment in the areas of navigation, oceanography and tides and watchmaking, which are employed either on board ships or in various activities arising from the mission of the Institute.

The ceremony was chaired by Rear Admiral Carlos Manuel da Costa Ventura Soares, Director General of the Hydrographic Institute, and was attended by Commander Brandão Correia and the Chief of Infrastructure and Transport Service, Commander Gameiro Mateus.
