RAIA Conquest Trophy Observatory Atlantic

The Project “RAIA.co – Oceanographic Observatory of the Iberian Margin and the Coast” will receive on 8 November, during the 4th Conference of the Atlantic Actors Platform, the trophy for its contribution to the Development of International Cooperation, under the Atlantic Strategy and the Atlantic Action Plan.

The RAIA.co project (2011-2015), continuation of the RAIA project - Transboundary Observatory of the Iberian Margin (2009-2012), led to the formalization of a Memorandum of Understanding between the 12 partners of the Euroregion “Galiza – Norte de Portugal” and the IH to consolidate the RAIA Observatory. These two projects were funded 75% by the ERDF, through the Operational Programme for Transboundary Cooperation between Spain and Portugal (POTEP).

The jury that awarded the trophy to RAIA.co was composed of representatives of the European Commission, the Atlantic Strategy Group, academics and representatives of the business area. In the award of the trophy, the jury took into account (i) the relevance of the project to the priorities of the Atlantic Action Plan, (ii) the level of innovation of the project in terms of working methods and results to be achieved, (iii) the degree of compliance with the project and (iv) the degree of transfer of results in favor of the development and implementation of the Atlantic Action Plan.
