NRP D. Carlos I Carries Out Replacement of Multiparameter Oceanographic Buoy
The NRP D. Carlos I, a hydro-oceanographic vessel of the Portuguese Navy, with the collaboration of NRP Hidra, carried out the replacement of buoy CSA 81 this Saturday, 29 November.
This multiparameter oceanographic buoy is located approximately 70 kilometres south of Culatra Island, in Faro, and collects wave agitation parameters (significant wave height, direction, and period), current data (speed and direction), and meteorological data (wind, temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, and radiation).
Buoy CSA 81 is part of the MONIZEE infrastructure, the operational monitoring and forecasting system for the Portuguese coastal ocean.
