NRP Admiral Gago Coutinho begins the second phase of the multidisciplinary hydro-oceanographic campaign

On March 26, the NRP Admiral Gago Coutinho it began the second phase of the multidisciplinary hydro-oceanographic campaign, in which it has been engaged since march 21, 2021.

This phase of the mission consists of the collection of surface sediment samples, with the aim of complementing the sampling mesh needed to review the sedimentary cartography, off the Vicentina coast and the south coast of the Algarve, between Sines and Faro.

For the performance of these works the ship has embarked on a technical team of 9 members of the Marine Geology Division of the Hydrographic Institute.
