NOAA - Global Drifter Program (GDP)

During its navigation to Cape Verde, under the Open Sea Initiative, the NRP Gago Coutinho will cooperate in the NOAA project - Global Drifter Program (GDP), launching drift buoys that measure meteo-oceanographic parameters: water temperature and atmospheric pressure.

The first buoy was launched on 01 January 2021 the SW of the corporal of São Vicente.
