Multiparametric buoy recovery and foundry
On 29 and 30 November, the NRP Admiral Gago Coutinho recovered the multiparametric oceanic buoy CSA 88/1 (MONICAN 1) that was adrift north of Berlengas and merged the multiparametric coastal buoy CSA 88/2 (MONICAN 2) as part of the planned maintenance of this equipment.
Both buoys are part of the in-situ monitoring network of the Navy Hydrographic Institute. They collect and transmit meteo-oceanographic data in real time, as well as allow the tuning and validation of oceanographic prediction models.
These data are available on the Hydrographic Institute portal in www.hydrographic. en .
