CSA93 Watercraft Maintenance - Wild Islands

A team of two members of the Hydrographic Institute boarded the NRP João Roby, between 14 and 16 July, to maintain the CSA93 buoy, founded off the Wild Islands, in the Madeira archipelago.

This mission, which was supported by all on-board personnel including two divers, consisted of replacing the buoy merged with a new buoy, with the same characteristics, in order to ensure its operation in good working conditions.

The CSA93 buoy allows monitoring of marine agitation and surface temperature off the Wild Islands, also contributing to the conservation of this Nature Reserve. The data is sent, in real time, to the Hydrographic Institute, and are made available to the whole community in general.
