Nautical Letters from the INternational Series – East Coast of the Republic of South Africa and the Republic of Mozambique

As a result of Portugal’s international commitments to produce nautical cartography of the International Hydrographic Organization (OHI) International Series, the INT7580 “Jesser Point to Good Peace” and INT7052 “Durban to Inhambane” letters were published on 31Dec2020 by the Hydrographic Service of the Republic of South Africa (South African Navy Hydrographic Office), in a coproduction with Portugal Hydrographic Institute and Mozambique Hydrographic Service (INAHINA).

In the production of these letters, information from Portuguese letters was used and the HI collaborated in the cartographic process in the phase of quality review and control.

These letters fill one of the gaps, so far existing, in the Coastal and General series of cartographic coverage of the eastern coast of the African continent.

During 2021, the IH and INAHINA have planned the production of the remaining 3 letters from the INT coastal series (represented orange – traced in the attached image).
