Hydrographic Institute conducts campaign off Viana do Castelo

Between October 02 and 07, 2023, a technical team from the Marine Geology Division of the Hydrographic Institute was on board the NRP “Andromeda” for the acquisition of light seismic reflection data and sediment samples from the Free Technological Zone (ZLT) off Viana do Castelo.

This campaign is part of a request from Wavec Offshore Renewables for the geophysical and geotechnical description of the seabed under the EU-SCORES project.

This is the 2nd campaign conducted with this objective, since the hydrographic data acquisition work was carried out in March, during a mission of the NRP “D. Carlos I”, in the vicinity of the ZLT. The acquired data is currently in the processing phase.
