Instituto Hydrográfico de la Marina de Spain visits the Hydrográfico Institute - 2023

The Director of the Instituto Hydrográfico de la Marina de Spain (IHM), Capitan de Navio Salvador Espinosa Gonzalez-Llanos, accompanied by his technical secretary, Capitan de Fragata Jose María Bustamante, and his Head of External Relations, Capitan de Corbeta Luis Javier Gomez Saavedra, visited the IH between 12 and 14 September.

The visit served to plan and define cooperation actions, continuing the collaboration between the two institutes. The defined actions aim to share knowledge, procedures and experiences, in order to improve the response capacity in the activities under the responsibility of both institutes, as well as the optimization of the resources available in works carried out in areas of common interest.

The intention of both institutes to plan, for 2024, joint works on the Guadiana river to enable training, training and sharing of experiences, particularly in the operation of autonomous vehicles, and the acquisition of top-hydrographic data in order to co-produce a new edition of the nautical charter of the ports of Vila Real de Santo António, Ayamonte and the outflow of the Guadiana river.

The IHM entourage, accompanied by the Director-General of the IH, today visits the REPMUS exercise that is taking place in Troy.
