Hydrographic Institute visits ports of Figueira da Foz and Aveiro

The Director-General of the Hydrographic Institute (IH), Rear Admiral João Paulo Ramalho Marreiros, accompanied by the Technical Director of the Hydrographic Institute, captain-of-fragnate João Paulo Delgado Vicente, visited on Wednesday, December 14, the ports of Figueira da Foz and Aveiro, at the invitation of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of those ports, Doctor Eduardo Feia.

The main objectives of the visit were to strengthen cooperation between the IH and the two ports in order to ensure safety in navigation, ensuring maritime accessibility and safeguarding the environment of those ports, to discuss ways of improving the exchange of technical and scientific information of interest to both parties, including information relevant to the production and updating of nautical cartography (paper and electronic) and official hydrographic cartography.

The Ports of Figueira da Foz and the Ports of Aveiro assume as their mission to provide competitive access for goods to regional, national and international markets, promoting the economic development of their region.
