Hydrographic Institute present at the DGT commemorative session

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Geographer José Nuno of the Monteiro Valley of Sousa Afonso, the session "Geodesia, Territorio e Sociedade: Homagem à Engenheiro Sousa Afonso" took place on 28 February in the General Directorate of the Territory (DGT).

This session aimed to give an overview of the current situation of geodesic activities and the evolution of geodesia in the face of the new challenges imposed by territory and society.

The presentation “The importance of Geodesia in support of Hydrographic Surveys and Nautical Cartography” by Eng. Paula Sanches, from the Hydrographic Institute’s Hydrography Division, stands out from the various presentations.
