Hydrographic Institute presents work at European Geosciences Union - General Assembly

The Hydrographic Institute presented the study “Predicting baptism in shallow regions using a machine learning model and a time series of PlanetScope images” at the “Strategies and Applications of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in a Spatiotemporal Context” session of the European Union General Assembly of Geosciences last week.

The study revealed the results obtained for the baptometry of the coastal region of Tavira, using only multispectral images together with a previously trained Machine Learning model.

This study allowed us to verify the applicability of the Machine Learning models in the estimation of baptometry in low-deep regions, in an expedited way and using only the acquisition of in-situ data for training the applied model. ~
