Portuguese Hydrographic Institute receives visit from STRIKFORNATO Deputy Commander
The Portuguese Hydrographic Institute (IH) received, last week, the visit of the Deputy Commander of the Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO (STRIKFORNATO), Rear Admiral Craig Wood.
The visit included a briefing delivered by the Director-General of the Portuguese Hydrographic Institute, Rear Admiral Ramalho Marreiros, during which the Institute’s main activities, capabilities, and areas of responsibility were presented, with particular emphasis on its contributions in the fields of hydrography, oceanography, and operational support.
As part of the programme, Rear Admiral Craig Wood also had the opportunity to visit the Maritime Geospatial, Meteorological and Oceanographic Centre (CGEOMETOC) and the NATO Centre of Excellence (MGEOMETOC), where the projects and capabilities developed in these domains were presented.
