Hydrographic Institute welcomes students from the Infante D. Henrique Nautical School
The Hydrographic Institute (IH) welcomed last week a group of 41 students from the Bachelor’s Degree in Pilotage of the Infante D. Henrique Nautical School.
The main purpose of this visit was to give students an overview of the work carried out by the IH, as well as the techniques, technologies and resources employed in fulfilling its mission.
The programme included a tour of the Technical Directorate’s divisions, namely the Divisions of Navigation, Oceanography and Hydrography, the Technical-Scientific Data Centre, the Marine Geology and Marine Chemistry & Pollution laboratories, as well as the Maritime Geospatial, Meteorological and Oceanographic Centre (CGEOMETOC).
