Hydrographic Institute welcomes visit from University of Aveiro students

The Hydrographic Institute (IH) welcomed, last week, a group of 25 students from the University of Aveiro, as part of the Geological Oceanography course unit.

The session included a presentation on the IH’s organisational structure, mission, and areas of activity, providing students with an overview of the institution’s operations and the responsibilities of the various divisions within the Technical Directorate, with particular emphasis on the Marine Geology Division.

The students also had the opportunity to visit the Marine Geology Laboratory, the Chemistry Laboratory, as well as the Hydrography, Oceanography, and Technical-Scientific Data Centre divisions, gaining direct insight into the tools and methodologies used by the IH in the study and monitoring of the marine environment.
