Hydrographic Institute conducts hydrographic survey in the Minho River

With the aim of updating nautical charting in the port of Caminha, the Hydrographic Brigade carried out a hydrographic survey between 15 and 20 December, using a single-beam echo sounder system and a UAV equipped with LiDAR technology.

During this period, Secchi depth measurements were also taken to support studies on water transparency quantification.

Through this type of work, carried out across the national territory, the Hydrographic Institute ensures navigation safety and the monitoring of oceanographic conditions in the marine environment.
