Hydrographic Institute participates in the National Metrology Conference
The Hydrographic Institute (IH) took part in the National Metrology Conference – ConfMET2025, held on 29 and 30 October at the facilities of the Portuguese Institute for Quality (IPQ).
During the event, the IH presented the work “Metrological performance of a thermostatic bath – stability, homogeneity and process capability”, developed by IH technicians Dora Carinhas, José Rocha and Luís Alves, in collaboration with Paulo Infante from the University of Évora.
This study highlights the importance of metrological assessment of temperature-control systems used in the calibration of hydro-oceanographic sensors, ensuring the quality and traceability of the measurements carried out by the IH.
IH’s participation in ConfMET2025 reinforces its commitment to metrological excellence and its active integration within the national scientific and technical community, promoting knowledge sharing and inter-institutional cooperation.
