Portuguese Hydrographic Institute makes public API available for Navigational Warnings in S-124 format
The Portuguese Hydrographic Institute (IH) will make Navigational Warnings available in S-124 format through a public Application Programming Interface (API), reinforcing the modernization and interoperability of Maritime Safety Information.
This solution ensures automated access to coastal and local warnings, as well as information derived from the AnavNet platform, providing data compatible with the new S-100 standard of the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO), which defines the theoretical framework supporting a new, more comprehensive hydrographic data model.
With this initiative, IH takes another step forward in the digital transition of hydrographic services, facilitating the automated integration of Maritime Safety Information (MSI).
