Hydrographic Institute Tests New Autonomous Vehicles

Between June 16 and 18, the Hydrographic Institute's Hydrographic Brigade conducted trials with two newly acquired autonomous vehicles: the Otter Pro USV (Unmanned Surface Vehicle) and the GraalTech X300 AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle). These tests aimed to operationalize the systems for remote data collection both at the surface and at depth.

The GraalTech X300 AUV can dive up to 300 meters and has an autonomy of up to 12 hours. It collects information using side-scan sonar, high-resolution video, and CTD (Conductivity, Temperature, Depth) sensors.

The Otter Pro USV, on the other hand, excels at high-resolution hydrographic surveys in confined areas, with an operational autonomy of up to 20 hours.
