Hydrographic Institute welcomes students from the University of Coimbra

This week, the Hydrographic Institute (IH) welcomed a group of undergraduate Geology students from the University of Coimbra.

The purpose of the visit was to provide students with deeper insight into the organizational structure of the IH and the responsibilities of its various divisions, with particular emphasis on the Marine Geology Division. The session also included information about entry requirements for the Portuguese Navy.

The students visited the Marine Geology laboratory and then proceeded to the Azinheira Hydrographic Base, where they had the opportunity to explore the Maritime Instrumentation Center laboratory, as well as the vessels and oceanographic equipment operated by the Hydrographic Institute.
