Hydrographic Institute welcomes students from the University of Aveiro

On May 7th, the Hydrographic Institute (IH) welcomed students from the Bachelor's Degree in Marine Sciences at the University of Aveiro.

During the session, the students were introduced to the organizational structure and operations of the IH, as well as the responsibilities of its various divisions. They were also informed about the admission requirements for joining the Portuguese Navy.

The students had the opportunity to visit the Marine Geology Laboratory, the Chemistry Laboratory, the Hydrography and Oceanography divisions, and the Scientific and Technical Data Center. The visit also included a cultural component with a tour of the historic Convent of Trinas building.

At the Azinheira Hydrographic Base, the students visited the Maritime Instrumentation Center, the Calibration Laboratory, and explored some of the oceanographic equipment operated by the IH.
