Hydrographic Institute welcomes delegation from the Marine Open Innovation Institute and JETRO

The Hydrographic Institute (HI) received a delegation from the Marine Open Innovation Institute (MaoI), Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, and the JETRO Agency, as part of a business mission organized by the Portuguese Trade and Investment Agency (AICEP) and the Ocean Forum.

The delegation had the opportunity to visit the Geospatial, Meteorological, and Oceanographic Maritime Center (CGEOMETOC), the divisions of the HI’s Technical Directorate, and the Ocean Forum office, also located at the Convent of the Trinas.

The main objective of this visit was to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Portugal and Japan in the field of the blue economy, exploring synergies in areas such as hydrography, ocean observation, maritime safety, and technological innovation.

The meeting contributed to identifying opportunities for collaboration in joint projects, promoting knowledge sharing and the development of solutions applied to the maritime sector.
