Hydrographic Institute receives visit from S. Brás de Alportel Senior University

The Hydrographic Institute (HI) received, on 14 May, the visit of a group of students from the Senior University of S. Brás de Alportel, accompanied by Professor of the Discipline “Earth Sciences”, CMG REF Martins Lourenço, by the President of the Board of Freguesia, João Fialho Rosa, by the Coordinator, Dr. Ercilia Gonçalves, and some teachers of this institution.

After having watched the institutional film on the activity of the Hydrographic Institute, visitors went through the divisions of the Technical Directorate – Navigation, Oceanography, Hydrography, Marine Geology and Chemistry and Pollution of the Marine Environment, in order to deepen their knowledge about the mission and the potential of the IH in the areas of the sciences and techniques of the sea.

At the end of the visit, the group, accompanied by Mr José Aguiar, also passed through the historical spaces of the Convent of the Trinas of Mocambo, making known the historical and cultural heritage that the IH occupies.
