Hydrographic Institute receives the visit of the Angolan Navy Delegation

On 21 November 2018, and on the occasion of the VI Formal Meeting between the Portuguese Navy and the Angolan Navy (MGA), the Hydrographic Institute (IH) received the official visit of the Angolan delegation headed by Rear Admiral Sebastião Pedro do Nascimento, who was accompanied by Fragnate Captain Lopes Augusto and Fragnate Captain Simão Capolo.

A delegation from the Armada Staff, represented by Comodoro Soares Ribeiro, was also present on this visit.

The visit began with an exhibition of the institutional film and a presentation on the activities of the IH, later through the technical-scientific areas of the Technical Directorate, the Meteorological and Naval Oceanographic Center, and the School of Hydrography and Oceanography. At the end of the visit, Rear Admiral Sebastian Pedro do Nascimento signed the Book of Honor, where he expressed the following: ... the Angolan delegation was impressed by the scientific work carried out by this institute ... this visit opens a new cycle in the further formation of the GMA officers.

The visit provided a greater knowledge of the GMA on the activity and capabilities of the Hydrographic Institute, highlighting the special interest shown by the Angolan delegation in deepening cooperation through the formation of its elements in the School of Hydrography and Oceanography.
