Hydrographic Institute Hosts Visit from Naval Academy Cadets

The 2nd-year Cadets from the Portuguese Naval Academy carried out a technical visit to the Calibration Laboratory of the Maritime Instrumentation Centre, located at the Hydrographic Base of Azinheira, part of the Hydrographic Institute.

During the activity, the cadets were given hands-on experience with the calibration processes of hydro-oceanographic equipment, which are essential to ensure the reliability of measurements for naval and scientific operations. They also had the opportunity to explore various sensors and instruments used in hydrographic and oceanographic surveys, deepening their practical knowledge and strengthening the link between theoretical training and operational practice.

This visit was a valuable contribution to the technical and scientific education of the Navy’s future officers.
