Hydrographic Institute receives athlete Francisco Lufinha

Francisco Lufinha, world record holder of the biggest kitesurf trip, without stops, is in the Azores for a new challenge: to travel 1,500 kilometers in kitesurfing, in pair with the athlete Anke Brandt, between the island of São Miguel, in the Azores, and the continent, within 10 days.

The Hydrographic Institute (IH) has been supporting Francisco Lufinha's challenges in Kitesurf, making available to him the technical and scientific capabilities of this Institute in the knowledge and prediction of maritime agitation. The IH will continue the meteo-oceanographic support during this new odyssey, wishing the athlete and the entire team the greatest success!

Here we released a video, on the occasion of the athlete's visit to the Hydrographic Institute, in July this year, in the preparation phase of this new challenge.
