Hydrographic Institute hosts 1st meeting of the Global Ocean Observing System/ European Ocean Observing System
The Hydrographic Institute (IH) will host the 1st “GOOS/EOOS - (Global Ocean Observing System/ European Ocean Observing System)” meeting on April 23, 2025, with the national representatives on GOOS and EOOS, in conjunction with the CP-COI, with the aim of interacting with the national community involved in ocean observation and with the main objectives of:
- to inform the national community about GOOS and EOOS and about the work of the various national representation groups in GOOS and IOC;
- to share with the community knowledge about the national capacities currently in place for marine observation and about future developments;
- to foster dialogue on various aspects associated with the national marine observation capacity, such as possible mechanisms to improve coordination between observations, potential opportunities for collaboration, community interaction with GOOS and EOOS, etc.
The meeting will take place between 10:30 and 17:15, in a hybrid format, in the Duarte Pacheco Pereira auditorium of the Hydrographic Institute (located in the atrium of the Navigator's Shop). Access to this auditorium should be via the Hydrographic Institute's Car Park, at the intersection of Rua Garcia de Orta and Rua de São João da Mata.
