Hydrographic Institute present at the 11th Observation Coordination Group
In the week from 11 to 14 May 2020,11th Observation Coordination Group (OCG-11) Global Ocean Observing system (GOOS), this time in virtual mode due to restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Integration of the HF Radar Network into Global HF Network is the culmination of immense work from various areas of the Hydrographic Institute.
Portugal being the 3rd European country with more observation stations of this typology, it made perfect sense to be on the side of the largest institutions in the world, taking on a global scope, namely the US NOAA, SHOM of France and IMOS of Australia.
Being on this global network means that data collection and processing meets the highest standards of quality control accepted by the entire scientific community.
The data obtained by the HF Radar Network operated by the Hydrographic Institute can be obtained from this portal at http://www.hydrografico.pt/radar. map
